NAVIGATION AND ACCESSIBILITYThis page includes some advice for getting the best from the BOROUGH OF KIRKLEES SC website. Selecting an item from the main menu, on the left, will take you to the section links from which you may choose the page you wish to view. Every page has links to related pages in the category. Every page also includes links to the homepage and to contact Club and the webmaster, in the footer section. The section on contents offers a brief description of each section of the site. I would prefer not to have a long list of 'best viewed at ...' instructions but, as I have learn't more about web-sites and their production, I have realised that the subject is frought with inconsistencies. The site has been designed with accessibility as a key criteria and I hope your experience is that I have achieved this. Unfortunately, I feel the need to justify what I have produced ... so the following is best guidance based on my incomplete, but improving, understanding of the various standards around.
The site is based on a screen resolution of 800×600. At higher screen resolutions more of each page will fit onto your computer screen. It will look its best if your browser is either Netscape 4.0 or Internet Explorer 3.0 or higher versions of these. Earlier versions of these two browsers will allow you to view the site but some elements may not display as well. The graphics have been kept to a minimum so 'text only' browsers are not at a disadvantage when visiting the site. Unfortunately I have no knowledge or experience of the Macintosh platform and would welcome any comments from these users to help me develop the accessibility of the site. I would like you to enjoy your visit to the site which has been designed to show you our swimming club and trust you will return again soon.
